Ideogram 4.0 vs Nano Banana Pro
Ideogram made its name on rendering text in images. Nano Banana Pro is the model most people now reach for when the brief has words in it. We ran both through the same twelve prompts, including a poster, a logo, a chart and an infographic.

Which to use
Nano Banana Pro, and on this set it is not close. Ideogram 4.0 left most of the poster empty, drew a tiny logo with thin type, inverted the chart's axis, returned the market and the pizza as cut-outs on a transparency grid, and has no editing endpoint on fal. It did well on the wide banner, leaving the copy space clean at 21:9, and its portrait is fine. Nano Banana Pro set the poster, drew the chart and infographic correctly and made a clean edit.

Ideogram 4.0 lives up to its text-rendering reputation on the jobs that made that reputation: posters, logos, and signage came out clean and accurate, matching the best closed model I tested.

Not what we saw: our poster came back mostly blank and our logo tiny. One try each, so treat both as samples.
But the smaller one-line captions under each label came out as gibberish, a soup of letter shapes that look like text from a distance and dissolve up close.
