Eleven v3

Eleven v3 is ElevenLabs' most expressive text-to-speech model, released as an alpha on 3 June 2025 and to general availability on 14 March 2026. Its signature is audio tags, stage directions in square brackets such as whispers or sighs that the model acts, plus a dialogue mode for multi-speaker scripts and more than 70 languages. It is not a real-time model; ElevenLabs points conversational use at Flash. On fal and on ElevenLabs' own API it costs $0.10 per thousand characters, and the free plan includes it for personal use.

›What we asked for

Hi, I'm Eleven v3, the voice model from ElevenLabs. I read scripts in more than seventy languages, and if you write a stage direction in square brackets, I'll try to act it. Here is the same script every voice on this site reads, so you can compare us.

At a glance

Price
$0.10 per thousand characters on fal and on ElevenLabs' API; our four scripts cost about ten cents in total.
Voices
Twenty named stock voices on fal, from Aria to Bill; we used Sarah. Cloning lives on ElevenLabs' own platform.
Audio tags
Square-bracket directions like [whispers] that the model performs; our scripts used none, to keep every model on the same words.
Languages
More than 70.
Not real-time
A larger, slower model; ElevenLabs recommends Flash for conversational latency.

Anvisha's take

We have not scored the four readings by ear; press play and judge the voice yourself. What we measured: Eleven v3 read the four scripts in 13 to 25 seconds of audio each, taking seven to ten seconds to return, at $0.10 per thousand characters, about a dime for all four. On the narration script it read the same 385 characters in 24.5 seconds, between Kokoro's 22.9 and the 25 to 26 of MiniMax and Gemini. The stock Sarah voice was used with no audio tags, so the emotion script is a test of what the model does from the words alone.

Eleven v3 real output: the same 4 scripts every model gets

Every voice model on this site gets the same 4 scripts, so you can compare like with like. These are the readings Eleven v3 returned, one try each, nothing re-rolled or retouched. Generated on . The 4 readings took 7 to 10 seconds each and cost $0.0976 in total.

Meet the Ember mug. It keeps your coffee at exactly the temperature you choose, for up to ninety minutes, and it tells your phone when it's ready. Warm from the first sip to the last. Ember. Coffee, on your terms.

A pour-over works in four steps. First, rinse the paper filter with hot water so it doesn't taste of paper. Second, add the grounds and pour just enough water to wet them, then wait thirty seconds while they bloom. Third, pour the rest of the water in slow circles. Fourth, wait about three minutes for it to drip through. That's it: a cup that tastes like the coffee, not the machine.

What we noticed running Eleven v3

  • •24.5 seconds for the paragraph: quicker than MiniMax at 25.2 and Gemini at 25.8, slower than Kokoro at 22.9, on the same 385 characters. See the explainer paragraph reading.
  • •No audio tags were used, so the excitement and the hushed aside come from the words; v3's tags are the feature this fixture deliberately does not exercise. See the emotional line reading.
  • •Returned in seven to ten seconds per reading; ElevenLabs points real-time use at Flash for a reason.
