Veo 3.1 Fast is the speed tier of Google DeepMind's Veo 3.1, released with it on 15 October 2025. It takes the same prompts, lengths, shapes and reference images as the full model and costs a quarter as much per second: $0.15 with audio at 720p or 1080p. It is the model Google AI Pro subscribers get in the Gemini app.

Anvisha's take
Veo 3.1 Fast is the clip most people should ship. The title card is clean, the harbour is the most convincing aerial in the set, the glass spill is close to the full model's, and the market has the most people doing recognisable things. It costs $0.90 for six seconds with audio, a quarter of Veo 3.1, and came back in under two minutes every time. Its own self-portrait put a Google logo on a sprinter's chest, so watch for brand leakage when a prompt names Google.

What Veo 3.1 Fast will not make
Google's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy applies: no sexual content involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, violent extremism, self-harm, hate, harassment or deceptive depictions of real people, and no adult mode.
