ByteDance's Seedance and Kuaishou's Kling are the two Chinese video models everyone compares. Both make audio, both hit 15 seconds. One costs five times the other. We ran both through the same nine clips.

Which to use
Seedance 2.0 for anything that has to look like footage, Kling 3.0 Standard for volume without on-screen text. Seedance typeset the title card, gave the most natural talking head on the roster and came back in about two minutes a clip; Kling garbled the card into 'MDDA SUMMER SESSIIONS', put a painted finish on the market, and sat in fal's queue for up to twelve minutes. But Kling's turntable, pour and harbour are all usable, and at $0.63 a clip against $1.52 it is the one you can afford to iterate on. Kling also has the multi-shot storyboard mode that Seedance 2.0 lacks.

Kling 3.0 actually surprised me in a good way. It maintained the character design with solid visual consistency, and both the character's actions and the camera movements felt smooth and intentional.

Where Kling 3.0 wins: Multi-shot storytelling in a single generation, multilingual lip-sync, and subject consistency (Omni). If you're doing anything with dialogue, characters, or non-English content, it's currently the strongest option.
